![]() The Youtube2mp3 program can instantly convert any YouTube URL to an MP3 file if you copy and paste it into the area above. How is this possible? Is it actually possible that the audio is 192 kbps quality? Or was the original quality uploaded as 128 kbps and then the file converter creates a file of "192 kbps quality" even though it is still lacking information? I'm not entirely sure how all this stuff works so thought I'd ask here. You can easily convert YouTube videos to MP3 format for free with the YT2MP3 application. I decided to analyse these files using Spek and all of them are 192 kbps. I'd always heard that Youtube's audio quality was 128 kbps and you often see that written in the description of videos as well. Granted, I don't have the best headphones and speakers but they're definitely not bad and I was paying super close attention to see if I could hear any differences that someone casually listening to the songs definitely wouldn't be doing. Having both versions of the same songs I could barely tell the difference (on both my monitors and headphones) and maybe that difference was just placebo anyway. I was curious and wanted to see if I could tell the difference myself between the 320 kbps versions and the Youtube versions. However, since it's expensive, I've also been converting Youtube videos to mp3 files just for practice at home (I've read you shouldn't play anything lower than 320 kbps on a proper sound system, although there is a lot of debate, this is not the topic of my post). I've just started to DJ and I'm starting to build up my music collection of 320 kbps mp3 files (from Beatport, etc.). Subreddit's theme is /r/Minimaluminiumalism. Moderators may at their discretion remove content that fits better in one of the above subreddits. ![]()
